Ego Where Art Thou

If you were pressed to locate your ego, could you? Ego has been subjected to a bad rap forever because it is associated with fear, anger, self-importance, and entropy—the phenomenon that grows as the universe losses matter and energy. Note that the ego is not something other; it is you hiding behind a label.

The ego serves a purpose. It remembers your address, your favorite things, and other benign tasks. But if you behave badly, the scapegoat is there: poor ego.

A solution: to forego the entire ego discussion so you can enjoy a better quality of life, recite this each day: I will not believe my own bull. This tactic is also at the heart of great art.
