Tiers on my Pillow
There are tiers of rejection from childhood onward, from lost loves, lost jobs, lost elections, lost friends, lost desire, to lost face.
No one wants to feel devalued, devastated, or worn down by rejection. Richard Bolles, author of What Color Is Your Parachute?, explains that the dream job goes to those who know how to get it, not necessarily to those most qualified for the job.
It’s not enough to know what you want; you must find a means of straddling the hurdles. While intuition will guide you, you must do the grunt work yourself.
Great art cannot come into being without sweat.
