The Mask of Society
The widely held notion is that people hide behind masks. Costume events are popular for good reason.
Masks can be a liberating experience, revealing the inner being, not hiding her. How about doing so without a mask, without veneer, without fear?
If you can act and interact every day as you would if you were anonymous—wearing a mask—then you have shed the masks of personality, the varied faces you present to the world, making way for the authentic you to appear.
Only after shedding every splinter of veneer can the true artist become honest with herself and her art.
