Art and Politics

darwin redux
Darwin Redux

In some respects, even art can’t escape the pulls of politics, whether to the left or the right. In Nazi Germany the dear Führer decreed that certain art was decadent art, which was verboten. And he should know, as he was a failed art student.

Today, many of the art institutions, museums, galleries, and grant giving organizations are populated mostly by wantonly ignorant leftist Marxists who would not know art from cream cheese. The powers with money dictate what sort of ‘art’ should be made—which is ultimately a trap for the artist who complies. This does not prevent the true artist from listening to a higher power.

One of the first actions of a Marxist or other fascist regime is to control the images that the people see. But, this can also be accomplished with language, as in the insidious mind control device called political correctness—the very illness that is eroding our land this very moment. Lack of awareness by sheeple can quickly transform art for art’s sake to art for the state’s sake. And voila: a totalitarian state is born.
