Rosebud in Babylon
F For Fake (1973) was written and directed by Orson Welles who shows us that you can make a brilliant film for about a “dollar.”
The cast alone is enticing: Orson Welles (Himself), Oja Kodar (The Girl), Joseph Cotten (Himself), François Reichenbach (Himself), Richard Wilson (Guest), Paul Stewart (Himself), Gary Graver (Himself), Peter Bogdanovich (Himself), William Alland (Himself), Laurence Harvey (Cameo), Clifford Irving (Himself), Nina Van Pallandt (Herself), and Elmyr de Hory (Himself).

Jack Hammer and I
I had sat down with my cappuccino, took out my drawing pencils and went to work. I was in the Starbucks across from the Beverly Center on La Cienega in Los Angeles.
It was sunny with clear blue skies—a vibrantly beautiful afternoon.
As I began my artwork, I heard someone say: “Excuse me.”

The Exclamation Point
The large stone three-story monolithic type building stood one block from the Pacific Ocean on the borderline between Venice and Santa Monica. There was no sign or name on the front, and it was clear the owner didn’t want company.

See Me, Feel Me
Our perception creates our world. The following extract makes several good points. Keep in mind as you read that art from the soul transcends motive and artifice—consequently, the art is honest and leaves nothing out.
—The following is from Language of Vision by Gyorgy Kepes; P. Theobald, 1951
Whatever may be the language one happens to inherit, it is at once a tool and a trap. It is a tool because with it we order our experience, matching the data abstracted from the flux about us with linguistic units: words, phrases, sentences. What is true of verbal languages is also true of visual “languages”: we match the data from the flux of visual experience with image-clichés, with stereotypes of one kind or another, according to the way we have been taught to see.

Walking the Walk
A saying from India goes: Wanting to reform the world without discovering ones true self is like trying to cover the earth with leather to avoid the pain of walking on stones and thorns. It is much simpler to wear shoes.
And how do you feel about walking in your shoes? Are you proud of your self and strength of character, or not?
Character is not a contest that includes a competition among others; it is strictly about you and a matter of life.
For more about character, read Character Answers All Questions inside the main site gallery.
